SSE Russia05 May, 2008

On April 29 the gala presentation of Business Academy Novartis took place in the Hotel National, Moscow. The project was initiated by the pharmaceutical company Novartis Farma, international leader in creation and production of fundamentally new medications. The academy was organized in Russia on the basis of the Stockholm School of Economics.

The event took place under the general slogan of the Business Academy Novartis – “territory of professionalism”.

The main task of the academy is preparation of a new generation of top managers capable of fulfillment of multi-level managerial tasks and to combine deep knowledge of pharmaceutical business and foremost business technologies.

The educational program is intended for one year. The first group of students included 45 employees of 4 subdivisions ofš Novartis Group – “Farma”, “Vaccines and Diagnostics”, “Sandoz” and “Consumer Health”.

Seminars and lectures of Igor Dukeov are very much popular among SSE Russia participants. The Governor of Stockholm County Per Unckel visited the Stockholm School of Economics, Russia.

At the end of January Per Unckel arrived to St. Petersburg with the official visit. On January 31st he had a meeting with the City Governor Valentina Matvienko where they signed the “Development plan of co-operation between St. Petersburg and Stockholm County for 2008-2009”.

On February 1st Per Unckel visited the Stockholm School of Economics in St. Petersburg that recently celebrated its 10th jubilee of successful work in Russia. Mr. Unckel met directors of executive MBA programs and discussed the further development plans of the School in Russia. After that the Governor of Stockholm County addressed to the students and specially stressed their attention that the Stockholm School of Economics is an excellent example of Russian-Swedish co-operation in education and science spheres.

TRANSEARCH Russia

CAREER PLANNING FOR SSE RUSSIA PARTICIPANTS AND ALUMNI

The Stockholm School of Economics in Russia has signed an agreement with the TRANSEARCH Russia company.


The main goal of the agreement is further career development of SSE participants and alumni. Joint efforts of SSE and TRANSEARCH Russia will give SSE participants better idea about the local and international labor market, knowledge of the main trends of its development, and familiarize them with basic technologies of executive search.

According to the agreement the Stockholm School of Economics and the TRANSEARCH Russia will co-operate in the following directions:

- The TRANSEARCH Russia becomes an adviser in possible questions of career planning for SSE. participants and alumni. This includes phone consultations with TRANSEARCH professionals, different kind of seminars on career planning issues and International labor market trends.

- Olga Chebotkova, the Partner of the TRANSEARCH Russia will deliver lectures within the frames of the Executive MBA program for SSE participants.

- The TRANSEARCH Russia will conduct round tables, dedicated to the important up-to-date problems of Russian and foreign managers («Downshifting – deliberate choice or necessity?», «Emotional maturity of leaders», «Networking as effective business tool», etc.) with SSE participants.

- The TRANSEARCH Russia will present results of their researches for SSE participants and alumni. Themes for researches can be jointly developed with SSE or initiated by SSE itself.

We have the great honor of announcing that two of our faculty members, Associate Professor Carl Fey and Assistant Professor Sergey Mourgoulis-Yakoushev, recently had two articles published in very reputable “A-journals”.
