OLYMPIC FIRE

AdLife.spb.ru with support of the committee for youth policy and interaction with public organizations organizes a contest among students of the fourth and fifth years of the higher educational institutions of St. Petersburg studying in “marketing,” “PR” and “advertising” specialties.

The project was born from the idea of composition of a rating of the leading higher educational institutions of St. Petersburg in each specialty: specialized departments had to send the most active and talented students for participation to the contest.

Results of the contest will help potential employers to answer a question difficult for them, that is graduates of which higher educational institution are better to recruit to a company. It is possible that common stereotypes about success of graduates of this or that higher educational institution will be broken.

For direct participants – students – the contest gives a perfect chance to check their strength before coming to the labor market and to encounter potential employers or future business partners face to face. Although this happens in a game environment yet, it provides preconditions for a future successful employment.

Another important goal that AdLife.spb.ru pursues as the organizer of the event is increase of the status of specialized higher education in the field of PR, advertising and marketing.

Whereas ten years ago specialists in this field were people of vocation and migrated from other professions and establishment of “advertising” and “public relations” specialties in Russian higher education was only starting, now practically any higher educational institution, no matter technical or humanitarian, is “equipped” with the relevant departments. Many large companies are seriously considering attraction of students for practice planning to grow promising future professionals among them.

Representatives of these very companies became members of the jury of the contest and provided assistance in its preparation.

The contest will take place in two rounds: the first round will be a written test. It will be made in three versions: for students of PR, advertising and marketing respectively. Each test includes 20 questions with optional answers. Students who score the necessary quantity of points pass to the second round.

The second round of the contest will take place in the form of defending of a case-study in front of members of the jury: employees of large companies of St. Petersburg, directors of marketing departments and directors of advertising agencies.

The first round of the contest will take place on March 3 in the House of the Youth in the Novoizmailovsky Prospekt, 48. The second round will take place on March 4 in the Stockholm School of Economics (Shvedsky Lane, 2).

An individual point and a common point for a higher educational institution will be calculated for each round. The winner student and the higher educational institutions being leaders in a certain specialty will be determined with assistance of these points.

Results of the contest will be determined by summing up of the points for both rounds.

The winners will be named at the final party that gathers all participants and organizers of the contest.
