Stockholm School of Economics Russia signed an agreement for development of business education programs for the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL)    

 

Under cooperation with the KHL the Stockholm School of Economics Russia developed the first modular educational program for teaching management and business administration. The program is targeted for athletes who left professional sport, management and administrative staff of the clubs within the League. The program that is based on the rich experience of the Stockholm School of Economics in the area of business education for athletes in Sweden will be adapted to the Russian reality and needs of the KHL clubs. 

The agreement on educational programs was signed on December 19, 2013. The following people were present at the signing:  Director on organization and administration of sports events of the Kontitental Hockey League Dmitry Kurbatov, President of the Stockholm School of Economics Karl-Olof Hammarquist, Vice-President of SSE Lars Strannegord, Dean of SSE Russia Anders Liljenberg and the General Director of the Sports Management Laboratory Elena Pavlova.

We are happy that the Stockholm School of Economics has developed such a program specially for us», commented Dmitry Kurbatov, Director on organization and administration of sports events of the Kontitental Hockey League.

Dean of the Stockholm School of Economics in Russia Anders Liljenberg gives a high rating to future cooperation with the KHL: «I am absolutely sure that thanks to cooperation with the Kontinental Hockey League we will be able to introduce best practices in the area of management for hockey players and administrative staff of hockey clubs».
