On this post priority tasks of Ageev include development of business of Western Union, development of new sales channels, determination of cooperation strategy and strengthening of relations with partners, as well as further expansion of Western Union chain in Russia.
Alexandru Badulescu, regional vice president of Western Union in countries of Eastern Europe, CIS and PACAF, commented on the appointment, "Andrei Ageev is a professional with big experience of work in financial and technical fields. Moreover, Andrei has understanding of specific of the market of money transfers and rich experience in his field. His international expertise in the field of business and technologies, as well as leader qualities will contribute to further growth of business of Western Union on the Russian market and development of the market as a whole."
Before coming to the new post Ageev had the post of vice president for sales and marketing in money transfer system and commercial bank Unistream. Previously, he had the post of marketing director and afterwards director for development of business in Technoserv, Russian system integrator where he was responsible for development of marketing strategy and increase of efficiency of activity in the field of marketing. Earlier, he had the post of vice president for marketing in ECTACO company in the US specializing in production of pocket interpreters where he was the head of marketing activity and sales of the company in 11 countries.
Ageev graduated from the St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University with a degree of master in physical electronics. He also has certificate of master of business administration of Stockholm School of Economics Russia (Executive MBA) in strategic marketing. He is fluent in Russian and English.
