Good to Great
Why Some Companies Make the Leap and Others Don't
Jim Collins
The book presents the development and experience
of the most successful companies, which demonstrated sustainable
results over years: Abbott, Circuit City, Fannie Mae, Gillette,
Kimberly-Clark, Kroger, Nucor, Philip Morris, Pitney Bowes, Walgreens,
Wells Fargo. These 11 are companies, which made transition from
good to great, and sustained these high results in the period not
less than 15 years. Thus, $1, invested into these companiesРІ made
in 1965, would have increased 471 times by the year 2000, while
investment into the market would have grown only 56 times.
Jim Collins and his research team investigate factors
and conditions needed for transition from good to great and its
mechanism.
The authors are sure that the consistent implementation
of the ideas and concepts they came to, will help practically any
organization drastically improve its performance and achieve really
great results.
The book was published simultaneously in 6
languages in 6 countries: Denmark, Norway, Russia, Finland, Sweden
and the United States.
