Stockholm School of Economics in Russia кepresented by president of SSE Russia Anders Paalzow warmly invites to join for the presentation of the book Academic Spirit in a Russian Context by Jan Eklöf and Anders Liljenberg.

The book launch seminar will be moderated by Paul Meyer, an alumnus of the Stockholm School of Economics with a genuine Russian-international business experience in the area of finance. He is currently a teacher of mathematics, business economics and Russian, and entertains a vivid interest in educational matters.

During this interactive seminar Jan and Anders will share their own very personal reflections of this enchanting 20-year voyage. Paul will further challenge the authors and open up for questions and comments from the audience.

About the book:

In 1997 Stockholm School of Economics settled in Russia, a bold move which few believed in. Some twenty years later, we know that those in doubt were wrong. Very wrong. The fascinating story hereof, entailing the overcoming of seemingly insurmountable challenges, and the realization of yet more opportunities, is now within reach through the writings of Jan Eklöf and Anders Liljenberg who served as Deans of SSE Russia from its inception until 2018.

In the recently launched book – Academic Spirit in a Russian Context – Jan and Anders convey their own personal accounts of how it all came to be.

The book, inclusive of a genuine alumni satisfaction study conducted only recently, comes forward as an exhaustive and proud case study that is subsequently analyzed by means of a few tools relating among other things to organizational culture. Extensive references are further made to cooperation in Russia – in relation to the academic society as well as to governmental and corporate contacts. The elaboration and review of these is a key contribution of the book.

This is a story of true entrepreneurship unfolding in the dynamic Russian higher education market, where academic demands and everyday business needs are brought to meet in a sustainable way meaning progressive presence all through the years.
