The last training module of the corporate program designed for Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works flew organically from the previous one, dedicated to Lean management. From June 10 to June 13 the program participants were studying how various Russian and foreign companies implemented Lean system.
This year the Stockholm School of Economics alumni were celebrating a regular Alumni Birthday in St. Petersburg. The event, held on June 11, gathered more than 150 guests at the Belmond Grand Hotel Europe, including members of the SSE Board of Directors, representatives of the Swedish business community in Russia and certainly heroes of the occasion-alumni of EMBA, Oil & Gas, Strategic Marketing, Business Zoom, Hans Rausing programs and Novartis corporate program. Many of them came to St Petersburg from other cities to reunite with their fellow students and friends.
On June 6, at SPIEF 2019, media company The Bell, backed by Russian Venture Company, held an open meeting on business education. The meeting was addressing the following subject “Transforming yourself. What kind of education can make you an international businessman.”
How to create a successful business model for your company? How to create an effective value proposition? How to alter your views to succeed in the new economy? Answers to these and other questions about innovative business models of today were given at onsite workshops held by the Stockholm School of Economics in the city of Perm on June 4-5.

At the Stockholm School of Economics learning is not over after programs participants are awarded diplomas. To keep its alumni up to date on the latest business development tendencies, SSE Russia regularly organizes lectures and seminars, inviting the best teachers and top-notch experts.
Mattia Bianchi has been appointed Professor of Business Administration by the Board of Directors of the Stockholm School of Economics. Mattia acts as Director of Operations Management in SSE Russia, he teaches innovation management, lean production, design thinking and conducts business simulations. He is always high-rated by both our learners and those of SSE in Stockholm, where in 2018 he won the “Teacher of the Year” award in master's degree programs.
Another GMR 11 group module, held in Stockholm from April 23 to April 27, became memorable for the participants owing to its absorbing program. Those 5 days were packed not only with lectures on international law, subtleties of contractual relationships and current market constraints but also with visits the participants paid to various companies and the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.
A GM 13 alumnus, Alexey Shulepov, has been appointed Managing Director of SKF in Russia and the CIS.
